Tell us in the discussion board how you used Spanish outside of the classroom with a native Spanish speaker and get credit! It can be at the mall, at Mazatlan, at work, wherever!
It needs to be an interaction significant and long enough so that you can write a couple of paragraphs on it. Or you could keep track of many short interactions and put them together in one post.
Either way, just follow these instructions:
1) Click on your class on the left
2) Click on Discussions at the top
3) Click New Post
4) Under Subject write "Communities" then the place you had the interaction. For example, "Communities: Mazatlan."
5) Then in the body of the post type your name, class (Spanish 1, Spanish 2, etc.), and period.
Example:
John Doe
Spanish 1
3rd period
6) Then write one paragraph on the interaction. Make sure you include:
where specifically the interaction took place
when it took place: date and approximate time
who you spoke to
what was said by you and the native Spanish speaker
any other important, relevant, or interesting details
7) In the second paragraph, write a response to the interaction. Include:
how you felt while talking (nervous, excited to use Spanish, embarrassed, etc.)
how well or poorly you understood their Spanish and how well or poorly they seemed to understand yours
